Peter won the 1989 BP Young Directors Award and spent five years at the Orange Tree Theatre, Richmond where he developed and ran the community programme as well as directing acclaimed productions such as The Return of the Prodigal and Someone Waiting.

He has developed a reputation for site-specific drama and work with new writing, including Upside Down and back to Front (artworcs at Number 8 Pershore), and The Worcester Pilgrim (artworcs at Worcester Cathedral).

Peter is currently working on several productions, including Bryony Lavery’s version of The Wicked Lady for Birmingham University Drama Department; Stephanie Dale’s Dealing With Dreams (a site-specific play for Birmingham Rep at Walsall Art Gallery - about the relationship between Jacob Epstein and Kathleen Garman); and the 2013 Chester Mystery Cycle which will be staged in Chester Cathedral in June 2013.
